BYD Battery-Box Premium HVM 19.3 vs RCT Power Battery 7.6

Technical comparison · High voltage

In brief

Two high-voltage home batteries of different sizes, and a constraint that weighs more than capacity: which inverter they work with. The BYD is in an official list of sixteen brands, while the RCT is declared for the maker's own Storage DC inverters.

The differences that matter

  • Usable capacity 19.32 kWh vs 6.91 kWh → the RCT reaches 15.36 kWh only by adding a second tower.
  • Inverters: sixteen brands on the official list vs the RCT Power Storage DC series → it decides which inverter you start from.
  • Capacity guaranteed at end of warranty 60% vs 80%, both over 10 years → in theory at least about 11.6 kWh vs about 5.5 kWh are left (manufacturer-declared values).
  • Operating temperature −10 to 50 °C vs 5 to 40 °C, IP55 vs IP42 → the RCT needs a room that does not drop below 5 °C.

Which one to choose

Choose BYD Battery-Box Premium HVM 19.3 if…

You have a household with high consumption, or you want to pair the battery with an inverter from one of the sixteen brands on the official list (Fronius, SMA, Sungrow, KOSTAL and others), and you want a system that keeps working without internet and is controllable on the local network. The trade-off is space and handling: it is a tower almost 193 cm tall, and the app is needed for the first start-up.

Choose RCT Power Battery 7.6 if…

You already have, or are choosing, an RCT Power Storage DC inverter and a 6.91 kWh usable size is enough, with room to grow to 15.36 kWh. You give up local control (the listing declares none) and a higher protection rating, and the room has to stay between 5 and 40 °C.
