The BYD Battery-Box Premium HVM 11.0 is a high-voltage lithium iron phosphate battery with a modular design, expandable at any time, with 11.04 kWh of usable energy.
BYD publishes a list of compatible inverters: sixteen brands, among others Fronius, Kostal, SMA, KACO, Solis, Sungrow. For each model the list gives the number of modules allowed and the minimum firmware version: before buying, it's worth checking that the inverter already chosen is on the list. The internet connection is not mandatory, but it is recommended.
The warranty lasts ten years or until the minimum throughput energy is reached, whichever limit comes first.

A manual or a datasheet counts as a source even when the original file is hosted elsewhere: what matters is the document, not the server. Where that happens, it is stated above.
What it really costs
How we worked it out
- stated cycles
- 3650
- warranty years
- 3650
- guaranteed energy throughput
- 3093
These numbers are calculated, not stated: they have no source to cite, they have a formula you can redo. The price used is the manufacturer's list price, which is stable and the same in every country — not a shop's price on the day.
Pros and cons
In favour
- The warranty promises at least 60% of usable capacity after ten years, or sooner if the minimum throughput energy is reached.
- It is modular and expandable at any time.
- The declared round-trip efficiency is at least 96%.
- It is compatible with inverters from several manufacturers: the official list counts sixteen brands.
Worth knowing
- After ten years and 3,650 cycles the declared efficiency drops from 96% to 94%.
- Setup requires the manufacturer's app and the latest firmware.
