BYD Battery-Box Premium HVM 19.3 vs Huawei LUNA2000-7-S1

Technical comparison · High voltage

In brief

A battery with 19.32 kWh usable and one with 6.9 kWh suit homes of different size; before that comes the inverter, because the Huawei works only with Huawei inverters while BYD lists sixteen brands. All figures are manufacturer-declared values.

The differences that matter

  • 19.32 vs 6.9 kWh usable → the BYD stores almost three times as much: one is sized for a large house, the other for an apartment.
  • Inverters: sixteen brands vs Huawei only → if your inverter is another brand, only the BYD is an option (if your model is on the list).
  • Warranty 10 vs 5 years, 59.77 vs 28.84 MWh guaranteed → the BYD is covered for longer and for more energy cycled.
  • 192.7 vs 51 cm tall, IP55 vs IP66 → the BYD needs a room with vertical space; the Huawei fits where height is limited.

Which one to choose

Choose BYD Battery-Box Premium HVM 19.3 if…

you have an inverter from one of the sixteen brands on the BYD list and a household load that needs a large battery. It works fully without internet and can be controlled over the local network. The compromise is space: it is a floor-standing column, rated IP55, with a minimum of -10 °C.

Choose Huawei LUNA2000-7-S1 if…

your system already has a Huawei SUN2000 or SUN5000 inverter and a small battery is enough: 80 kg, low and quiet (29 dB), rated IP66 and working from -20 to 55 °C. The compromise: without internet it works in a reduced way, it accepts only Huawei inverters and the warranty is shorter.
