BYD Battery-Box Premium HVS 10.2 vs Huawei LUNA2000-14-S1
Technical comparison · High voltage
Two high-voltage LFP home batteries: the Huawei has 13.8 kWh usable, the BYD 10.24. The Huawei gives more energy in a lower column, the BYD a warranty twice as long and a choice of inverter among sixteen brands. Values as declared by the manufacturers.

The differences that matter
- Warranty: 10 years versus 5, with a similar energy cap (30.82 MWh versus 28.84 MWh) → duration matters, not energy: at one full cycle a day the BYD is covered for about 8 years, the Huawei for 5.
- Capacity and height: 10.24 kWh in 122.8 cm versus 13.8 kWh in 87 cm → the Huawei gives more energy in less height.
- Inverter: sixteen brands on BYD's list versus only Huawei SUN2000 and SUN5000 → with the BYD you keep your inverter or change it later; with the Huawei, battery and inverter are chosen together.
Which one to choose
Choose BYD Battery-Box Premium HVS 10.2 if…
the inverter is from BYD's list and you want to keep the battery for a long time: a 10-year warranty against 5, with a 30.82 MWh cap that at one full cycle a day arrives after about 8 years. Without internet it works fully. You get 3.5 kWh less and a column 122.8 cm tall, rated IP55 instead of IP66.
Choose Huawei LUNA2000-14-S1 if…
the inverter is already a Huawei SUN2000 or SUN5000 and the bay is low, 87 cm: the LUNA2000-14-S1 gives 13.8 kWh, weighs 148 kg, is rated IP66 and for operation down to −20 °C. The trade-off: a 5-year warranty instead of 10, no other inverter brands and reduced operation without internet.
