Data from official source

The EcoFlow STREAM Expansion Battery 5000 is just a battery: it has no inverter, no inputs for panels, no connection to the grid. It stacks beneath an already-installed STREAM 5000 or STREAM AC 5000 and doubles its capacity; energy management stays entirely with the unit it's attached to.

Each main unit accepts up to two, for a three-body system on the same balcony. Each module, though, charges and discharges with its own ceiling: anyone stacking two batteries to empty them faster finds that the speed per module doesn't change, only the reserve does.

It's for anyone who already has a STREAM 5000 or AC 5000 and wants more autonomy without touching the main unit. It's not for anyone starting from zero: on its own it produces and distributes nothing.

Which documents this page rests on

The rest of the data comes from 2 pages on the manufacturer's site, cited row by row in the table above.

A manual or a datasheet counts as a source even when the original file is hosted elsewhere: what matters is the document, not the server. Where that happens, it is stated above.

03 · Summary

Pros and cons

In favour

  • It doubles the reserve of an already-installed STREAM without changing the main unit.
  • Up to two per unit: a three-body system without a second inverter to install.
  • It stacks beneath the main unit: no second installation spot is needed.

Worth knowing

  • On its own it does nothing: an already-installed STREAM 5000 or AC 5000 is needed, and it doesn't attach to other models.
  • Each module charges and discharges with its own ceiling: two stacked batteries don't empty faster than one.
  • Each main unit accepts at most two: the reserve doesn't grow beyond three bodies.
