SMA Home Storage 13.1
JouleSpecs does not sell and does not show shop prices: check the price where you buy.
SMA Home Storage 13.1 assembles four lithium iron phosphate modules into two separate towers, not a single block: a detail to keep in mind at the planning stage, since room is needed for both. It is compatible with both the single-phase Sunny Boy Smart Energy inverter and the three-phase Sunny Tripower Smart Energy.
It only works paired with one of these two SMA inverters. The IP65 protection rating allows installation outdoors as well.

Which documents this page rests on
The rest of the data comes from one page on the manufacturer's site, cited row by row in the table above.
A manual or a datasheet counts as a source even when the original file is hosted elsewhere: what matters is the document, not the server. Where that happens, it is stated above.
What it really costs
How we worked it out
- stated cycles
- 8000
- warranty years
- 730
- guaranteed energy throughput
- 7200
How we worked it out
- usable capacity
- 13.120
- weight
- 152
These numbers are calculated, not stated: they have no source to cite, they have a formula you can redo. The price used is the manufacturer's list price, which is stable and the same in every country — not a shop's price on the day.
Pros and cons
In favour

- The battery efficiency is 94.5%.
- The IP65 protection rating allows installation outdoors as well.
Worth knowing
- It installs in two separate towers, not a single block: the plan has to allow space for both.
- The factory warranty is two years: the extra eight years, for a total of ten, require registration within 30 days of commissioning.
